Dr Richard Gosselin is Associate-Professor at the Department of Pediatrics at McGill University and staff neonatologist at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. His professional and academic interests are in Medical Education. He received his MD at Université Laval, where he also completed his Pediatrics residency. Following a Neonatology fellowship at McGill, Dr Gosselin was appointed as neonatologist and assistant-professor of Pediatrics at Université de Sherbrooke in 1996. He was subsequently joined the Newborn Medicine division at the Montreal Children’s Hospital in 1999. Dr Gosselin completed the McGill Teaching Scholar Program in 2003, was director of the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine residency program and medical director of the McGill Neonatal Nurse Practitioner training program from 2004 to 2008. He subsequently was appointed Director of the McGill Pediatric residency program between 2008 and 2014. Dr Gosselin received the Certificate of Merit from the Canadian Association for Medical Education (CAME) in 2009 and was nominated to the Faculty Honour List for Educational Excellence at the Faculty of Medicine at McGill in 2013. Dr Gosselin is currently involved in simulation activities in the division of neonatology and has resumed his role as medical director of the McGill Neonatal Nurse Practioners Masters Program since 2014. He also has been active with recent accreditations of postgraduate education programs in collaboration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
